Ascom Announces New Explosion-Proof Pager
914T ATEX - Designed for heavy duty

Gothenburg, April 8 – Ascom Wireless Solutions, the leading provider of on-site wireless communications, today announces a new explosion-proof pager for ATEX environments, 914T.

The 914T ATEX will replace Ascom bestseller 912T ATEX.

In explosive hazardous areas, such as oil rigs, petroleum refineries and chemical industries there is often a need to distribute messages fast. Ordinary messaging equipment is not safe enough to use in those areas. Ascom has a long history and great experience of developing pagers and personal alarm equipment for explosive hazardous areas.

The 914T ATEX is intended for heavy duty usage. It is robust and designed to be dust and splash proof (IP 64). The user interface is intuitive and easy to understand and the pager is controlled by a single push button. The ATEX certification assures that the pager is safe to wear and use in explosive hazardous areas.

The new pager is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and yet big enough not to get lost. It is also equipped with a two row dot matrix LCD-display and vibrator, an impressive feature on ATEX equipment.

A paging system secures fast and quick communication. Text messaging removes the possibility for confusion connected with voice messages. With paging you can cover a large area for a relatively low infrastructure cost compared to other technologies.

Ascom offers a wide range of products, not only paging. All Ascom systems are compatible with each other. This means that on a certain site you can mix phones and pagers, to equip your personnel with the most suitable communication solution for their work.
