Ascom expands nursing call system with voice functionality

Utrecht, March 17, 2009 - Ascom Wireless Solutions adds VoIP-speech functionality (Voice over Internet Protocol) to their nursing call system teleCARE, part of  Ascom IP teleCARE solution.

The new voice feature of the nursing call system puts the patient care staff directly in contact with each other. This means that they can help patients quickly and clearly indicates time saving. The hospital staff is able to immediately respond and analyse the call before they go to the patient. This means that the staff can work more efficiently coordinating the care based on available patient information.

Many hospitals and institutions worldwide use Ascom teleCARE, a platform that the users themselves will be able to expand with new applications and innovations. The VoIP functionality is a new option for the platform. This feature simplifies the daily work of hospital staff. By using Ascom DECT or VoWiFi handsets the staff can call the patients directly. All communication takes place over the LAN (Local Area Network), using VoIP and SIP clients. It is also possible to connect to multiple sites via LAN.
