Ascom presents IP-based nurse call system at Medica 2009

Gothenburg, 13 November 2009. Ascom Wireless Solutions, the leading provider of wireless on-site communications, supplies its customers with advanced telecommunications systems, purpose-built handsets, wireless voice- and message transmission systems, customised alarm and positioning applications for the healthcare market.

At this year's Medica show, held in Düsseldorf 18-21 November, Ascom will give visitors an opportunity to experience their latest deployments and solutions for personal alarms with location, baby and dementia supervision, patient monitoring, voice group calls, interactive messaging, transport logistics and IP-DECT and VoWiFihandsets.

The IP-based nurse call system, Ascom teleCARE IP, makes good use of the numerous possibilities of IP technology. It offers the full range of traditional nurse call functions and can also be integrated into other IP-based equipment used in the everyday work of staff at hospitals or other care facilities.

The teleCARE IP system consists of independent IP-Arcade controllers (IP-room mini-servers) with independent management and control functions for each room. Ascom teleCARE IP also provides a broad range of messaging capabilities, delivering an enhanced service level such that a call can be automatically sent to a designated competent caregiver. If the caregiver is busy, the call will automatically be transferred to the next person.

With Ascom teleCARE IP, all activities such as calls and alarms are stored and technical reports are generated by the system and can be analysed and evaluated from a user friendly interface for follow-up and improvement of working routines.
