Ascom Network Testing Makes Strategic Commitment to Expand Benchmarking Product Line

Newly Launched Benchmarking and Monitoring Product Unit; Recent Customer Wins in Latin America Underscore Growing Demand for TEMS Benchmarking Solutions

RESTON, Va., 15 May 2012 — Ascom Network Testing, the leader in mobile network testing, optimization and benchmarking, today announced organizational alignment, customer acquisition and significant development investment in its Benchmarking and Monitoring product line that underscore its commitment to maintaining industry leadership in this fast- growing segment of the mobile network testing industry.

On May 1st, company reorganization included a new Benchmarking and Monitoring Product Unit that concentrates product expertise from its global benchmarking development, product management and support team within a single, dedicated operating unit. The consolidation enables Ascom Network Testing to better address the needs of benchmarking customers and to rapidly capitalize on the demand from mobile operators, service providers and regulators for solutions for verifying network quality of service.

The Benchmarking and Monitoring product unit will leverage an Ascom Network Testing center of expertise in Kuala Lumpur, which has spearheaded a number of evolutionary benchmarking product line efforts including advanced software components to facilitate multisystem fleet management; database integration interfaces; updated key performance indicator (KPI) reporting dashboards; and modern/customizable interfaces.

Ascom Network Testing also announced adoption of its benchmarking and monitoring solutions by major operators worldwide, including a recent, strategic win from one of the largest mobile network operators in Brazil for its all-in-one mobile network benchmarking platform, TEMS™ Symphony.

Ascom's TEMS Symphony enables mobile network operators to benchmark mobile network performance to ensure the highest levels of quality, availability, and subscriber satisfaction to keep churn at a minimum. It does so via a single, cost-effective, powerful hardware platform that can be used to address all of a mobile operator's benchmarking needs – whether vehicular, indoor, stationary, or nomadic testing; legacy, 3G, or LTE network monitoring; and voice or data service quality measurement.

The latest TEMS Symphony release extends the company's LTE benchmarking leadership by adding support for three additional LTE data testing devices, including: Huawei E398, a multi-RAT USB modem (EDGE, Dual-Carrier HSPA+, and LTE) covering all of the frequency bands currently used outside the U.S.; and new PCIe embedded MiniCards from Sierra Wireless intended for AT&T and Verizon in the U.S. market. The release also includes high-density batteries enhancing the usability of the TEMS Symphony MTP-4 backpack model, and a backup battery solution for vehicular operation.

Ascom Network Testing is a leader in LTE testing, with its solutions being chosen in 60% of all LTE network deployments worldwide. Ascom's TEMS solutions are usually at the vanguard of new technology support via the company's long-standing collaboration with leading telecommunications manufacturers and standards organizations. When combined with the company's sustained investment in research and development, customers can be assured that Ascom's TEMS solutions will remain at the forefront of evolving multivendor, multiformat, multienvironment network testing, optimization and benchmarking.
