Ascom Network Testing Wins Extend LTE Network Roll Out and Optimization Leadership
TEMS Testing, Benchmarking & Monitoring Solutions Chosen by Operators in Europe, the Americas and Asia
Reston, Va., 15 December 2011 – Ascom Network Testing announced today its selection in six strategic procurements to provide mission-critical wireless network testing and optimization solutions required by operators when deploying, and optimizing, next-generation 4G LTE networks.
As LTE networks are deployed around the world, smart phones and tablet use has experience a tremendous growth. According to Pyramid Research, "LTE will grow much faster in terms of subscriptions when compared to previous standards." Their prediction is that subscriptions worldwide will reach 136 million by year-end 2014. Customers expect operators to provide them with LTE networks that fulfill their demands for new data services, at the higher speeds.
TEMS solutions have been used by operators since the beginning of LTE deployment. Today, they continue to be used by both new and existing operators, as confirmed by contract awards which were all results of competitive bids and implementation trials in which the TEMS solution demonstrated performance, scope-of- functionality and/or global deployment advantages.
Recent Ascom Network Testing awards include:
Several wins for one of the company's most widely deployed solution bundles used while rolling out, and optimizing, LTE networks: TEMS Investigation, the industry-leading tool for wireless network drive testing, troubleshooting, verification, optimization, and maintenance, and TEMS Discovery, a wireless network reporting and analytics tool for indoor test post processing, drive test analysis, and LTE network diagnostics to collect and post-process LTE data. New customers for this solution include a leading infrastructure vendor in North Asia, a South American network operator, and a new, Eastern Canadian wireless operator.
Additional Ascom Network Testing LTE solutions were also selected by:
- A new operator in France, which selected the autonomous network testing systemTEMS Automatic for rollout and optimization of its 2G/3G network. TEMS Automatic is an autonomous network testing system that delivers end-to-end QoS information using unattended test probes that place test calls throughout the network and transmit the data for processing and reporting for thorough wireless network troubleshooting, reporting, and analysis;
- A Nordic operator, which chose TEMS Monitor Master, a mobile application performance monitoring solution that enables wireless operators to test, monitor and report simulated user experiences - from messaging services to streaming video - for a multi-country replacement of a custom-built monitoring system;
- One of Brazil's largest operators, which will use TEMS Discovery and TEMS Pocket, a cell phone/smartphone and advanced test tool in one for wireless network verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting, for its new, indoor benchmarking initiative. By using the combined offer, field technicians can go into pedestrian or in-building areas to collect and post-process the data to support the operator’s advanced quality assurance program.
"Deploying 4G LTE networks is a huge investment that can result in excessive operational expenses, and loss of premium customers, if the best testing and optimization solutions are not used throughout the process. We are honored that wireless network operators continue to trust our solutions more than any other during the crucial stages of 4G LTE network roll outs" said Rikard Lundqvist, General Manager, Ascom Network Testing.
