Acquisition of Mobile Test Solutions Business of Comarco successfully completed

As communicated on 29 September 2008, Ascom acquires the Wireless Testing Business (WTS) of Comarco based in California. The transaction has been successfully completed as of 6 January 2009.

The assets pertaining to the Comarco WTS business have been transferred to
Ascom, Inc., based in Lake Forest, California, an American affiliate of Ascom Holding AG. The transaction includes 48 employees. Comarco WTS will become an integral part of Ascom´s Mobile Test Solutions Business Unit.

With the acquisition of Comarco WTS, the Mobile Test Solutions Business Unit (as a part of the Division Security Solutions) further strengthens its leading position in the global market of mobile Quality of Service (QoS) and stationary network testing after the acquisition of Argogroup in spring 2008.

Comarco WTS as a complementary business supplements the current Ascom Mobile Test Solutions business with its own competitive technology and its customer base in America. In late 2006, Ascom and Comarco established a global alliance to co-develop the next-generation of test and measurement systems, based on Ascom Symphony Software. With this acquisition, Ascom becomes a true global player for mobile and stationary testing with strong US and European presence.
