The Ascom Radio over IP unit 'ROIP' offers two main functions combined in one unit:

• remote operation of tactical radios over an IP network
• remote operation of EUROCOM terminals over an IP network.

Remote operation of tactical radios is particularly suitable in situations where the operator is in a distant place from the radio device, as is often the case for ad-hoc command posts.

Operation of EUROCOM terminals over LAN is a convenient solution for installations of legacy EUROCOM terminals over an existing LAN infrastructure.

The ROIP is available in the following versions

• ROIP-r is a fully rugged device withstanding harsh environmental conditions in a military environment,
• ROIP 19’’ offers six times the capacity of a ROIP-r.
