PCTel SeeGull

Note:

The free upgrade you can download here is only for PCTel EX and PCTel MX scanners. If you own the PCTel LX scanner you still need to contact  support to get an upgrade file.
 
The warranty may or may not entitle you to a free software upgrade; this depends on when the scanner was delivered and whether a TEMS support agreement exists or not.
 
For older scanners, the upgrade may entail a small charge.

Upgrade instructions

Please note that the SeeGul Tremos has been replaced by Seegul Assistant 1.1.0.0.

The installation procedure is done in three steps:
  

1.
Download a new  program called "SeeGull Assistant" to perform the upgrade.

It is located in the PCTEL’s  website, under "Downloads", select "SeeGull Assistant 1.1.0.0".

The zip file includes:

• SeeGull Assistant User Guideline
• SeeGull Assistant installation files (Seegull Assistant is the control application for the software upgrade)
   - Unzip the files in a desired location.
   - Install SeeGull Assistant 1.1.0.0 and follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
   

2.
If you should encounter a reset problem during the upgrade process, please read the  After Upgrade Process  document, this might be helpful.
  

3.
Download the license file  WCDMA-GSM-version-2.7 to upgrade an EX scanner.
Download the license file  LTE-version-1.5  to upgrade an LTE scanner.

• Unzip the file and choose the *.dtb2 file that matches your scanner model to be upgraded. This file shall be used in the next step.

Note: It is not possible to perform an upgrade without the license file.
  

4.
Run the control application.
Run the "SeeGull Assistant Tool" and follow the instructions in the User Guideline.

Kindly read the Assistant User Guideline and the After upgrade Process documents before proceeding with the upgrade.
