TEMS VISUALIZATION WCDMA/GPEH FAQS
Resource Monitor
How can a GPEH Resource Monitor Pooled chart indicate that a cell has Actual Consumed Usage Credits greater than the Max Capacity credits?
This is possible if the system is configured with 'Delayed Activation of Capacity Control'. The OSS will then be allowed to use more resources (for a limited time - grace period) than the operator has bought licenses for.
Optional Messages
How do Optional Messages affect WCDMA/GPEH Calls Count?
Inclusion of Optional Messages can make a slight difference on Call Count and Call Classification. When Optional Messages are included, message sequence for a given UE can appear continuous (by shortening inactivity interval to less than 30 seconds we use to break calls). So two calls can at times get “joined” into one compared to when only required messages are recorded. In some cases, when Optional Messages are left out and any required messages that come after 30 seconds do not qualify the ensuing message segment (for the same UE) as a call this segment is filtered out. This is the reason why occasionally a Dropped Call could be missed without “optional messages” recorded. So, if the purpose is to trace every single call, it is recommended that optional messages be recorded as well.
Database Summary
Some of the compressed mode activities did not seem to be included in CPM activations, deactivations, and time in CPM statistics. Why?
TEMS Visualization compressed mode KPIs are for measuring IRAT performance. So these CPM KPIs do not include IFHO related activities. However, CPM activities due to IFHO are still preserved in call messages and captured as events. If you have not included INERNAL_MEASUREMENT_HANDLING_EXECUTION in the recording profile, CPM activities will not be reflected in these KPIs either. In this case, TEMS Visualization is unable to distinguish the trigger of compressed mode.
