Ascom wins first major order for VoWiFi Systems
Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) in Miami chose the Ascom i75 VoWiFi handset for six hospitals in South Florida. The total amount of all contracts will be about USD 2 million.
Ascom (US) Inc. announces a major deployment of VoWiFi systems at Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) in Miami. BHSF plans to replace three thousand existing phones across their six hospital campus with the Ascom FreeNet i75 standards based device. The total amount of all contracts will be about USD 2 million until mid-year 2008.
BHSF chose the Ascom i75 VoWiFi handset for its robust design, extensive feature set and integration capability. Ascom’s FreeNet VoWiFi system, combined with the UNITE Messaging Suite delivers mission-critical messages, alerts and data from virtually any healthcare information systems directly to the handset. Once installed over the six hospital organization, the BHSF VoWiFi system will be one of the largest VoWiFi deployments in the US.
“We needed an on-site wireless communication system that would provide us seamless mobility throughout our entire hospital chain” says Gilberto Albornoz, Director of Telecom and Network Infrastructure, BHSF. “Ascom’s ability to easily integrate voice and messaging was exactly what we were looking for.”
