The Problem

During the life cycle of test creation, scheduling and reporting, large test and monitoring systems need to provide all these functions:

• day-to-day administration
• creation of test cases
• scheduling of test cases
• storage of results
• reporting

Such a system also needs to be intuitive to allow it to be used quickly yet powerful enough to cater for all the complexity that a typical customer requires.

The Solution

Monitor Master Quality Manager is Monitor Master’s central system. It provides all the capabilities to support everything a customer needs to get the maximum value from a large, distributed test and monitoring system throughout all stages of the service testing lifecycle.

The process starts as tests are created using Story Boarder. This graphical user interface allows complex test cases to be modelled using an intuitive drag and drop interface. The resulting tests can span any combination of Voice, SMS, MMS Instant Messaging, Voice over IP and other services over bearers ranging from GSM to HSDPA, CDMA and IP.

Tests are saved in a central repository and Quality Manager provides a simple to use interface to allow these to be run interactively or in accordance with a schedule.

This simplicity extends to powerful tools to allow multi-party test cases to be scheduled to run across all the probes in a large system and collect all the results.

Quality Manager provides a data warehouse where test and monitoring results are stored on a long term basis. To cater for all the varied needs of customers to analyse and aggregate data in different ways, all data can be tagged with meta-data completely under the control of the customer.

Within Quality Manager, reporting is provided using Box Office. This flexible Web based platform allows customers to create their own reports in any way they like. Box Office turns data into information that can be given to the right people so they can use it.
