EXAMPLES:The Ascom personal alarm system can be easily configured to suit many different work situations. Below are two examples of how the system can be configured for a particular environment and situation.
|Natasha, working at a psychiatric clinic, is attacked by a patient and finds herself in a dangerous situation. By pushing the easily accessible alarm button on her handset, she calls for help. If she is unable to use the push button, any of the other automatic alarm functions, e.g., pull cord, man-down/ no movement functionality can trigger an alarm. The alarm, together with information about where the incident is occurring, is distributed via the personal alarm system to the emergency response team. The emergency message, can in some cases, contain information about the incident including location. The response team can connect to Natasha’s handset via push-to-talk and listen to the incident as they are approaching the location. This additional information better enables the team to coordinate their efforts in mitigating the incident.|
|Susan, a nurse at a hospital, is starting to feel threatened by an angry patient and needs to alert her colleagues for assistance. Susan sends a “soft alarm” by pushing the alarm button on her wireless device which sends a discrete message to her colleagues.
