Role Overview:
As a Senior Accounting and Controlling officer, you will play a central role in ensuring accurate and compliant financial management. You'll be responsible for overseeing accounts, ensuring adherence to legal and accounting standards, and supporting key projects within the France & Iberia region.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the entry, posting, and reconciliation of customer and vendor accounting entries.
- Monitor unassigned customer and supplier payments for resolution.
- Manage payroll entries, expense reports, and ensure proper transfers from payroll software.
- Ensure compliance of revenue and expense accounts, including deferred revenue and expenses calculations.
- Recognize income for projects and maintenance contracts.
- Post monthly provision and closing entries, calculating related provisions.
- Verify VAT entries and perform checks.
- Analyze general ledger accounts for provisions, fixed assets, inventory, and balance sheet preparation.
- Calculate year-end provisions and inventory entries for financial statements.
- Lead accounting closings (monthly, quarterly, and annually) and annual accounts preparation.
- Define and implement cost accounting parameters, collaborating with the finance director.
- Produce insightful analysis reports with key indicators and ratios.
- Reconcile backlog with the order administration department.
- Contribute to budget and forecast development.
- Prepare tax and social declarations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes.
- Liaise with statutory auditors, justifying restatements and providing supporting documentation.
- Participate in key projects within the France & Iberia region.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks as required by the evolving role and company needs.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in SMEs or accounting firms.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and desire for precision.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP and PowerBI is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
