Ascom delivers cutting edge healthcare communication solutions to new Swedish hospital Nya Karolinska Solna
Ascom Wireless Solutions wins in a public bid an order of about CHF 1.4 million from the new Swedish hospital Nya Karolinska Solna to deliver advanced healthcare communication solutions.
The agreement is a cooperation between Ascom and Telia and is a part of the Stockholm County Council investment in a new world-class university hospital, Nya Karolinska Solna (NKS). The new hospital will have 630 beds and will be located in Solna, close to Stockholm. The hospital will receive its first patients during 2016.
Ascom will supply NKS with advanced solutions for mission-critical communications, such as alarm handling from patients and medical technical equipment, which will be at the core of the communication of the hospital. Ascom contracted Telia for project management during the implementation. Telia is also responsible for both stationery and mobile telephony for Stockholm County Council.
"Winning this contract in a public bidding procedure is a proof of strength for Ascom. It demonstrates that we have the right solutions for integrated workflow intelligence, increased efficiency, patient safety and quality of care for the healthcare sector", says Claes Ödman, General Manager, Ascom Wireless Solutions.
