Ascom divests its Infrastructure Operators Business
Ascom divests its Infrastructure Operators business to Trans Data Management AG. This transaction is as a part of the announced divestment of the core business units of the former Security Communication Division.
As of 1 April 2012, Trans Data Management AG (TDM) is taking over from Ascom (Switzerland) Ltd. all rights and obligations pertaining to the Infrastructure Operators unit. All 39 employees will be taken over at their existing locations and they transfer to TDM. Trans Data Management AG. is a subsidiary of the British Trans Data Management Ltd., a provider of data and telecom based communication and security solutions, alarm monitoring & management and systems integration. TDM has already distributed Ascom Infrastructure Operators products in the United Kingdom.
The core product of the business unit Infrastructure Operators is NIS Rail/Road, a well established brand in the market. NIS Rail/Road is a sophisticated IP-based communication system including a powerful tool to manage information, emergency calls and peripheral devices such as track side phone, help points, and video surveillance. It is specifically designed for the needs of rail- and highway operators.
The sale of our Infrastructure Operators business to TDM represents a good solution, which takes into consideration the interests of both our customers and our employees." says Fritz Mumenthaler, CEO of Ascom.
