Ascom was awarded a CHF 5.3 million order by King's Health Partners - break through in the British healthcare market

Ascom Wireless Solutions (www.ascom.com/ws) der from King's Health Partners in the UK (www.kingshealthpartners.org). This order has a value of GBP 3.7 million (= CHF 5.3 million), and is another big step in Ascom's planned strategic approach in the UK healthcare market.

Ascom successfully won a new contract through a competitive tender process issued by King's Health Partners, one of England's five Academic Health Sciences Centers (AHSC). Ascom was appointed as the principal contractor to supply an enterprise-wide end-to-end staff protection alarm solution to South London & Maudsley NHS (National Health Service) Foundation Trust (www.slam.nhs.uk). South London & Maudsley NHS Trust is member of the King's Health Partners organization and one of the largest mental health trusts within the UK, with 68 inpatient wards across multiple hospital sites, offering a wide range of services.

The Ascom solutions will be installed in three major locations over the next three years, with services being supported for a minimum of five years. The solutions incorporate the intelligent middleware platform, Ascom UNITE, and their market leading ruggedizedAscom d81 handsets. It provides staff protection through DECT locators, with an additional choice of alarm triggers on the unit linked to hardwired push-buttons and integrated to fire and building management systems.
