Allium Healthcare and Ascom partnership sets high bar in healthcare delivery

Innovative partnership to achieve unprecedented outcomes for clients of Singapore’s first purpose-built premium nursing home

April 17, 2019

Allium Healthcare Holdings Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of investment holding company G. K. Goh Holdings Ltd, has partnered with Swiss company Ascom, a global solutions provider focused on healthcare information and communication technology (ICT) and mobile workflow solutions, to deliver new standards in Healthcare Operational Workflow in Asia.

The Ascom Healthcare Platform, which delivers integrated and orchestrated clinical workflow solutions, closes digital information gaps between devices, aged-care systems, and care teams, focusing on improving care quality, satisfaction, and communication. The solution selected by Allium Healthcare - Ascom teleCARE IP Patient call system - integrates staff messaging via Ascom Myco 2 smartphone with wandering management technology. The Ascom Myco 2 smartphone will give caregivers on the move at-a-glance alerts of client alarm calls and enable them to distribute relevant tasks. The solution will enable caregivers to monitor and care for Allium Healthcare’s clients discreetly, and keep the most vulnerable safe, both indoors and out with Ascom Wandering Management and activity-based passive sensors. Allium Healthcare’s purpose-built premium nursing home, Allium Care Suites, scheduled to open in mid-2019, will be the first in Asia to have this system.

Recognising the complexity in implementing and adopting new technology in the health and ageing arena, Chief Executive Officer of Allium Healthcare, Bernie Poh said, “As collaborative partners experienced in the healthcare industry, we aim to drive best practices. The Ascom technology solutions will be customised to each client’s individual lifestyle, leading to unobtrusive and dignified management of their care. In addition, the solutions will greatly improve efficiencies, freeing the Home’s care staff to spend more quality time with our clients.”

Aage Rask Andersen, Vice President of Africa, Asia, and Australia at Ascom said, “We are honoured to partner with Allium Healthcare, helping to improve client care, workflow efficiency, and staff safety. Our Healthcare Platform will help support the mobilisation of clients and care staff as it will enable profiling of the clients’ physical and cognitive condition to deliver adapting ageing in the place care model.”

Speaking on the collaboration, Mr Poh added, “A capable care team supported by the right technology will create a more effective and client-centred healthcare delivery system. After an extensive assessment of companies, Ascom stood out as the one best aligned with our mission. These technologies not only reveal great opportunities for how we care for our clients, but they also make a tangible difference, providing our care staff with more streamlined workflows and our clients’ freedom, safety, and comprehensive care.”
