Ascom wins another long term critical communication service contract with leading Amsterdam academic hospital

September 21, 2017

Ascom succeeds to extend its partnership with the academic hospital Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC) by five years. The service contract underlines AMC's trust in the technology of Ascom and includes all the certainties required for reliable fire safety - from maintenance and resolving any malfunctioning to monitoring and management on site.

The extended partnership contract amounts to EUR 1.3 million and guarantees the continuity of its fire safety platform. The academic hospital has been working for over 15 years with Ascom's high quality fire safety platform. Over the past two years, AMC and Ascom have implemented a number of important innovations in the platform.

The nearly sixty fire alarm systems have migrated to the newest generation. A completely redundant fibre optic network was designed, consisting of ten decentralized networks. This autumn, AMC will have a certified network that connects all alarm panels, the central management system and no less than 12,000 loop units. Over the next ten years, the complete system will be in place for the safety of patients, caregivers and visitors of AMC.

"The steps we have taken together with AMC to a certified fire safety platform form the base for the new agreement we have recently closed. This shows that our fire safety platform delivers solid performance and perfectly aligns with current regulations and complex and comprehensive care environments", says Olaf Hendriks, Managing Director Ascom Benelux.
