November 29, 2017

Ascom wins the single largest ever Ascom Myco order. 4 000 Ascom Myco 2 smart devices will be delivered through a business partner to the St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim and used to improve the workflow of caregivers.

The entire frame agreement has a value of around CHF 4.8 million and the smart devices will be delivered to Hemit, the IT department at the Central Norway Regional Health Authority. The shipment of the first batch of 4 000 Ascom Myco 2 to St. Olavs Hospital starts in December. Implementation of the mobile smart devices will be completed with an integration to hospital's existing messaging system securing fast and safe handling of critical alarms and messaging.

The Ascom Myco 2 is a mobile smart device and a key part of the Ascom Healthcare platform. Ascom Myco 2 features sophisticated technologies including near-field communication (NFC), infrared (IR) positioning and an updated operating system to simplify healthcare workflows for caregivers.

"Alarm handling in mobile smart devices has become crucial for improving patient care and optimizing workflows. Having the Central Norway Regional Health Authority implementing Ascom Myco 2 fits very well with our ambition to drive mobile workflow innovation in hospitals", says Aage Rask Andersen, Managing Director of Ascom Nordics.
