Are you passionate about technology and eager to make a real impact in a global ICT environment? Ascom is looking for a ICT Software Engineer to join our dynamic ICT Operations team. If you're curious, collaborative, and driven by continuous improvement, this could be your next career move.

About Ascom

Ascom is a global solutions provider focused on healthcare ICT and mobile workflow solutions. With headquarters in Switzerland and operations in 18 countries, we develop and deliver mission-critical communication systems that improve efficiency and safety in complex environments. Our vision is to close digital information gaps, enabling the best possible decisions—anytime, anywhere.

At Ascom, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organization that values innovation, agility, and accountability. We foster a culture of trust and collaboration, where every employee is empowered to grow and make a difference.

Keep our business applications healthy, secure, and continuously improving.
As an ICT Software Engineer focused on Application Management, you’ll own the day‑to‑day reliability and lifecycle of key enterprise applications — coordinating changes, ensuring robust operations, and driving incremental enhancements that users love. You’ll still code where it adds value (primarily .NET/C# and SQL), but your superpower is turning requirements into stable, supportable, and well‑documented solutions that stand up in production.

What you’ll manage & deliver

  • Own the application lifecycle: operate production systems, handle incident/problem management, and plan releases/patching to minimize risk and downtime. Align to project plans and industry standards.
  • Run change safely: translate user needs into clear specs, evaluate operational feasibility, and ship changes via well‑designed, testable code/config—with complete documentation and rollback plans.
  • Reliability by design: build verification plans, promote test automation, and carry out functional/non‑functional testing so updates land cleanly across environments.
  • Integrations & data: integrate components into fully working systems, troubleshoot across app/database/interfaces, and optimize performance of business‑critical workflows.
  • User enablement & feedback: deploy features, gather structured feedback, and convert insights into backlog items that improve usability and supportability.
  • Collaboration at scale: coordinate with vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders; communicate trade‑offs and timelines clearly and diplomatically.

What you’ll bring

  • Tech foundation for app management:
    • Proficiency in C#/.NET and Microsoft SQL for light development, automation, and support tooling.
    • Experience operating and enhancing enterprise applications and web frameworks; comfort reading logs, triaging incidents, and debugging in production.
  • SDLC & quality mindset: agile ways of working, test‑driven habits where practical, and a strong documentation discipline across environments (DEV/TEST/PROD).
  • Partnering skills: ability to translate business requirements into maintainable solutions; keep multiple workstreams moving without losing reliability. Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Experience: ~1–2 years as a Software/Application Engineer (or similar) working with enterprise apps and web technologies.

Wanted competencies

  • Systems & Applications: running and evolving enterprise software to spec—architecture awareness, seamless integration, and user satisfaction.
  • System Development: solution design, agile practices, .NET/C#/Java familiarity, and ability to explain complex issues clearly.
  • ICT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity (Intermediate): enough infra and security understanding to ship secure, compliant, and supportable changes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: strong cross‑team coordination; clear stakeholder updates, negotiation, and follow‑through.

Why this role matters

You’ll be the steady hand behind applications used globally — keeping them reliable today while shaping what they become tomorrow. It’s an individual‑contributor role with global reach and a direct line to tangible business outcomes.

At Ascom, you’ll be part of a global team that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth. We offer:

  • A chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of ICT operations
  • A supportive and inclusive work culture that encourages initiative and ownership
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
  • A workplace where your ideas and contributions truly matter

Send us your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you're the right fit for this role. We look forward to hearing from you!
