  • Personnel protection for public servants

    An employee finds herself alone with a threatening member of the public. Another employee loses consciousness in a seldom-visited area of a building, before having a chance to manually send an alarm. Security staff want to locate the origin of a personell distress alarm, but the sender isn’t responding. These are just some of the situations that can be handled by Ascom personnel safety solutions.

    Although the exact design and functions of each Ascom solution is unique, the basic approach is the same: data-rich alerts go directly from an employee’s handset to those of designated colleagues and/or response teams. Alerts can be manually triggered with a single push of a button. Or sent automatically by ‘man-down’ or ‘no movement’ features—where an inactive or suddenly tilted handset sends alerts. Handsets can also be fitted with pull-cords.

    When forcibly removed from the carrier, the handset transmits a distress alert. Moreover, Responders can plot the location of a handset used to send a distress alert, often with room-level accuracy. And since Ascom solutions are open and scalable, they integrate with virtually all existing telephony infrastructure and technologies.
