Objectives & Purpose

The Supply Chain Planner and Inventory Manager plays a pivotal role in managing all aspects of the supply chain, encompassing procurement, negotiations, warehouse management, logistics, inventory control, and demand forecasting. The primary goal is to ensure timely delivery of customer orders, maintain optimal stock levels, and uphold quality standards while also providing accurate revenue forecasting for customer supply products.

Reports to:    Finance Director

Key Tasks, Responsibilities & Authorities

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Coordinate the selection process, manage supplier contracts, and actively negotiate favorable terms to drive material purchase savings.
  • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring physical security and optimising stock levels for efficient operations.
  • Inventory Orders: Manage and process inventory orders with all suppliers, minimising lead times for solution orders.
  • Warehouse Management: Maintain the warehouse to support services, including customer support contract requirements and repair order processing.
  • Demand Planning: Collaborate with various departments to plan and forecast inventory accurately, ensuring on-time deliveries.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify improvement opportunities within the supply chain function and actively seek enhancements both within and beyond the scope of responsibility.
  • Professionalisation: Contribute to the professionalisation of the supply chain function by implementing best practices and industry standards.
  • Independent Action: Act independently in accordance with established procedures and management systems.
  • Regional Business Setup: Organise and facilitate the setup of regional business operations as required.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively address warehouse and logistics issues, working towards cost control and continuous cost improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: A degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Warehouse and Logistics Management is       necessary, along with proficiency in negotiation and contracting skills.

Skills & Competencies

  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Excel is essential, and knowledge of Microsoft AX is advantageous.
  • Analytic Skills: Ability to create reports and establish clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Logical Reasoning: Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for effective collaboration.

  • Self-Starter: The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Team Player: Excellent teamwork skills, collaborating closely with supply, operations, service, and finance teams.
  • Strong Organization: Exceptional organizational skills to manage complex supply chain processes efficiently.
