Latest Ascom teleCARE IP Emergency call system release offers significant wander management, wireless and reporting enhancements.
LEADING AGE MEETING & EXPO, Philadelphia, October 29, 2018 – Ascom, a global solutions provider focused on healthcare ICT and mobile workflows, announces the newest release of its Ascom teleCARE IP emergency call system today at the Leading Age Meeting & Expo, Booth #1936. The newest version of teleCARE IP now contains significant upgrades to wander management functionality, increased wireless device system capacity, an embedded messaging, assignments and reporting interface, software improvements, and an updated UL2560 listing certification.

TeleCARE IP 11.0 supports such dementia care efforts by adding key wander-specific workflow and communications features designed to save staff steps, provide traceability, and increase accountability,” said John Sola, Business Development Manager, Ascom North America. “With these additional features, teleCARE IP offers providers class-leading functionality for both emergency call and wander management in a single, integrated – not interfaced – platform.”
Wander management workflow enhancements include loiter notification, latched alert handling, and door status scheduling. Loiter is designed to reduce staff alarm fatigue by utilizing a configurable timer delay in the notification of a loiter event, allowing residents to pass a protected wander door or area without generating an immediate alert. Latched wander alerts can be acknowledged by a variety of teleCARE IP devices including hardwired peripherals like a door-side module or card reader; wireless peripherals like a staff transceiver; an annunciator; and Ascom wireless handsets.
The system’s capacity for wireless devices also doubled to 1,000 devices operable on a single communications infrastructure and system manager.
Short for messaging, assignments, and reporting, MARi is an embedded teleCARE IP interface package that supports teleCARE IP. An updated version of MARi is also available, with support for the new wander management functionality, improved report calculation and dashboard widget performance, and increased capacity.
