An advanced critical alert system for advanced oncology care

A combination of Ascom smartphones and Ascom Digistat software integrates with a range of medical devices.

The Paoli-Calmettes Institute (IPC) is one of the Centers for the Fight Against Cancer. Located in Marseille, this private health facility with a public service mission in oncology, is one of the founding members of the PACA Canceropôle (Provence, Alpes, Côte d'Azur).

According to Dr Antoine Sannini, head of the ICU, the institute chose Ascom because of the company's extensive healthcare experience. Another factor say Sannini, was the compatibility of the Ascom solution wirh existing medical devices and equipment.

The Paoli-Calmettes Institute has an average of 11 000 alerts per month. Sannini: "This controlled investment in new technologies lets us improve staff comfort by reducing the fatigue related to the large number of alerts and the sound they produce. New technologies should let us focus on providing the best possible care to our patients."
