Ascom, a leading vendor of on-site wireless communications solutions, is announcing that its range of enterprise-grade IP-DECT handsets can from now on be seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Teams SIP Gateway, enabling Teams calling and personal alarm functionality on the Ascom devices.
Teams is a leading cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) platform, with hundreds of millions of active users. For organizations with a need to add wireless VoIP service, Ascom will help tailor and implement a new IP-DECT system, integrated to their Teams tenant.
“This agreement between us and Microsoft is great news for our customers and partners companies and organizations that rely on mission-critical communications in tough environments,” says Ascom CEO Nicolas Vanden Abeele. “It means Microsoft Teams users get the best of both worlds: the cost and ease-of-use benefits of Teams, together with the proven reliability of our handsets on high-uptime DECT networks.”
Organizations with an existing Ascom IP-DECT system can protect their investment and benefit from continued service when migrating their phone system to Teams. Migration itself is smooth and hassle-free with only a simple system upgrade and re-configuration needed.
“Microsoft Teams is about connecting people and bringing them closer,” said Pete Daderko, Director of Product Marketing, Microsoft Teams Phone at Microsoft. “This integration let customers use their Ascom DECT devices as Teams endpoints, while benefitting from Teams‘ communication and collaboration capabilities.“
The integration agreement covers the following Ascom IP-DECT handsets: Ascom Myco 3 smartphone, Ascom d43, Ascom d63, Ascom d81, Ascom d81Ex, Ascom d83.
