Incoming WCTP Push Notifications and Patient Care Device Alerts: Ascom receives alert messages to send push notifications to end users. Upon receiving, reading, or responding to an alert, response messages are sent back to the alert manager. They can also store technical and physiological alert data from patient care devices such as physiological monitors and infusion pumps.
Outgoing Patient Administration: Epic informs Ascom system of new patient creation, changes to patient demographic information, visits (ADT), registration (guarantors and insurance coverage), allergies, and bed status updates. These messages are triggered from many of Epic's applications. The ability to send allergy updates is only available from the Allergy activity.
Incoming Infusion Documentation: Epic receives from Ascom discrete infusion measurements of the BD´s Alaris infusion system.
