The Dutch VieCuri Medical Center is expanding its collaboration with Ascom with a framework agreement to deploy a state-of-the-art nursing and medical call system. This solution provides reliable primary care alarms throughout the hospital. It involves patient alerting and integrated medical equipment at the bedside. As a top clinical hospital, VieCuri Medical Center has several locations in the Netherlands with more than 3000 employees.
The Ascom solution collects and shares information from multiple sources to enable a rapid response to patient questions and clinical alarms. The solution is very flexible and enables VieCuri to answer future functional healthcare questions. For example, integrating wireless fall prevention and wandering detection is very easy.
Smart nurse call and medical alerting, combined with innovative software, enable a much-needed workload reduction for healthcare staff. The state-of-the-art solution was chosen after thorough research into the needs of care teams. By involving end users in this process, patients and caregivers are even better supported.
Rick Theelen, Project Leader VieCuri MC: 'VieCuri is migrating the nurse call system to a future-proof solution. In the coming years, this will allow us to meet the needs of the care staff without them having to get used to all kinds of new equipment. That was an important motivation for VieCuri to choose Ascom."
VieCuri and Ascom have long collaborated on clinical communication and collaboration within healthcare teams. VieCuri uses several building blocks of the Ascom Healthcare Platform (AHP). The hospital also applies Ascom handsets that allow caregivers to adequately follow-up calls and medical alarms.
