Good Health and Well-Being (SDG No 3) - Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Through its products and solutions Ascom is shaping the care experience of people with a need of special (health) care, for example patients and elderly people. The Company’s expertise in improving clinical care workflows is paramount to the caregivers in hospitals, elderly care establishments and other care facilities. With constant development of new solutions and including the advantages of digitalization, Ascom assures that caregivers have more time for patient’s needs.

The caregiver’s roles and the promotion of a conducive working environment are critical in achieving global mandates1 such as universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Quality Education (SDG No 4) - Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning

Ascom offers internal training and supports continuing education to its employees to assure high qualified staff members in the fast changing and dynamic field of communication technology and ICT. Moreover, Ascom supports the interdepartmental exchange in the day-to-day work.

Gender Equality (SDG No 5) - Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

Ascom is committed to a diverse workforce. Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG No 8) - Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

Our main impact on Sustainable Development Goal 8 is through our businesses operations through which we create work globally. We directly employ around 1’300 employees (FTE) by the end of 2020 as well as generating indirect employment through the use of third-party services.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG No 9) - Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

Innovation is at the heart of what we do at Ascom. We take great pride in our industry leading products and solutions whilst continually striving to make further improvements.

Reduced Inequalities (SDG No 10) - Reduce inequality within and among countries

Ascom has equality and diversity plans in place where required by law. Additionally, Ascom is committed to the Ascom Code of Ethical Business Conduct which demands a zero-tolerance policy regarding discriminations of any sort.

Responsible consumption and production (SDG No 12) - Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

In order to promote responsible consumption, we ensure our products are robust and durable so that they have the longest possible lifespan. Where practicable, we work with customers to repair products as opposed to offering a new device. We also work with our manufacturers in order to continually improve efficiencies by doing such as altering a manufacturing processes to reduce energy consumption.

Climate action (SDG No 13) - Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Ascom recognizes the environmental challenges which we face in the world today, particularly that of the changing climate. Through our established Environmental Management System we formulate targets that focus our efforts to reduce our environmental impact, in particular out carbon footprint.
