Saint Louis Sucre, France

Three industrial sites managed by Saint Louis Sucre have deployed Ascom communication solutions (radio, DECT, DATA/PTI*) in demanding environments.

The IT team as well as the on-site teams are delighted with this choice. Ascom stands out for its reliability, interoperability with third-party solutions and ease of deployment.

Saint Louis Sucre, a member of the Südzucker group, Europe’s leading sugar producer, has 700 employees spread over five industrial sites, including Etrépagny in the Eure region and Roye in the Somme region. Ryssen Alcools, a distillery based near Dunkirk, is also part of the group.

The decision to use the Ascom solution came from the Südzucker Group, and Florian Lecomte, Infrastructure Systems and Networks Engineer at Saint Louis Sucre, agrees with this choice.

This decision was taken at Group level to ensure homogeneity of the solutions distributed across the different sites in Europe. It’s a smart choice because the Ascom solution is interoperable, flexible and reliable. With Ascom, the deployment is going well.
Florian Lecomte, Infrastructure, Systems and Networks Engineer at Saint Louis Sucre

Three different sites, three different problems: one flexible solution that is reliable and interoperable

Florian continues: "For example, we set up PTIs in Etrépagny in one day. The ease of integration with third-party solutions, especially for VOIP, is Ascom's big advantage. They have developed an open system, which allows its solutions to be connected to others (Cisco, Teams, Skype, etc.), providing flexibility, as reliability ensures maximum security. Due to the large size of the different sites, employees are regularly on the move or isolated: maintenance technicians, production supervisors, etc. The Ascom device with mobile handsets is combined with a software platform, with a dual purpose: to have a real-time overview of all critical flows and to communicate them to the right person at the right time. The aim is to ensure employee safety and improve the responsiveness of the emergency service in the event of an incident."
