Ascom and the Swiss Kantonsspital St.Gallen (KSSG) have concluded a framework agreement in December for a pioneering pilot project as part of the hospital’s digitization strategy. The project aims to enable more efficient and cost-effective processes.
Ascom’s solution is based on the Ascom Healthcare platform to ensure secure and stable operations in acute care. The Ascom alarm management system operates mobile alarms via Ascom Myco 3 smartphones. Software applications like patient-centric clinical messenger, task management tools and vital data visualization complement the solution.
The solution will be implemented in a pilot phase lasting several months in the areas of medical intensive care, pneumology and two wards. Following a successful pilot phase, there is a possibility to expand the solution for use in other areas of the KSSG as part of the concluded framework agreement.
In 2020, the KSSG launched a project to renew the ICT strategy in the hospital due to new construction projects at the KSSG and the associated expansion of the ICT infrastructure for further digitization steps. This will enable more efficient and cost-effective processes, and, above all, support processes based on mobility. Under the project name TERA (technological framework concept), individual projects were bundled into fields of action and then combined into functional platforms.
Valerio Signorelli, Managing Director DACH, emphasizes: "We are convinced that, together with the KSSG, we can support the ICT strategy of the hospital in the long term through this important project. We are proud to be able to work with the KSSG to create a lighthouse project that can serve as a model for hospitals in Switzerland and beyond, and we would like to express our sincere thanks for the trust that the KSSG has placed in Ascom."
