Ascom and its partner University Hospital Bonn (UKB) were selected to test solutions that improve digitalization in the healthcare sector by decision-makers from the hospital industry at the German digitalization summit of the German healthcare eco system ENTSCHEIDERFABRIK.
Out of 12 finalists, Ascom and UKB were voted second place with their elaborated digitalization topic "Move the Data, not the Caregiver!" at the Entscheider-Event 2022 – the digitalization summit of the German healthcare industry. ENTSCHEIDERFABRIK brings together 36 sponsoring associations, over 800 individual hospital sites, and over 150 industrial companies, with the aim of demonstrating the benefit-generating contribution of digitization projects.
"Move the Data, not the Caregiver!" was developed in cooperation with UKB and aims to effectively meet the increasing challenges in the healthcare sector, such as a shortage of specialists and increasing complexity in clinical treatment and in IT systems. The solution concept will be tested in the following 12 months in several clinics and its implementation will be presented at various events.
The core is constituted by the Ascom Healthcare Platform which offers a vendor-independent and interoperable end-to-end solution portfolio. The portfolio includes elements for structured and mobile communication, alarm management, workflow control and decision support. The solutions may support hospitals in receiving funds under the Hospital Future Act (Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz, KHZG).
