Apprenticeships

My Ascom apprenticeship started in 2007 and this was my first experience in a formal workplace. Fast forward to 2024 and I continue to have a fantastic career with the same organisation.

On completion of my apprenticeship I moved into an Engineering Technical role, since that point I have been given opportunities as a team leader and management roles within Ascom.

I’m grateful of the opportunity Ascom provided through the apprenticeship program and how they continue to support me today. I would really recommend considering Ascom if you are looking to complete an apprenticeship.

Luke Blackmoore – Customer Care Manager

Ascom gave me the opportunity to experience hands-on learning. Throughout my apprenticeship I developed skills working with, servers, hardware, networking and voice systems to name a few. 

I would really recommend Ascom to those wishing to seek an apprenticeship. Ascom is an ever-changing company, introducing new technologies and ways of working. This will be my ninth year at the company, and I am still learning new technologies, working with new customers and developing myself.

The Ascom apprenticeship helped me to progress my experience and enhance my colleague course learning. I had the opportunity to work across many areas of the business and to collaborate with team members across the business.  

I started my apprenticeship by doing repairs, handling our retail customers and finally picking up healthcare tickets towards the end of my apprenticeship. After I completed my course, I then went on to become a First Line Engineer, I then progressed on to Second Line Engineer shortly after.

I am grateful for the opportunity Ascom provided through the apprenticeship and how the company has continued to support me.
