Objectives and Purpose

Does visiting client sites and demonstrating healthcare technology to people sound interesting to you? Do you enjoy working in different places from time to time and where no two days are the same? If so, then a Pre-Sales Engineer role with us might be what you’re looking for. As part of our Sales team, you’ll be at the forefront of our business and demonstrating Ascom’s solutions that ultimately help our customers provide expert care.

The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer provides expert level support to effectively demonstrate our products and services to prospective and existing customers. Support includes quoting, configuring, proposing, and presenting Ascom solutions in conjunction with and/or the sales team. In addition, the Senior Pre-Sales Engineer provides expert level input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services. As a senior member of the Pre-Sales Engineering Team, he/she is also expected to coach and help more junior team members to develop and grow.

 

Your days will be filled with…

  • Responsible for supporting the sales team in selling and promoting Ascom products and services
  • Work with the sales and marketing team to develop sales tools to assist our resellers in learning and presenting the Ascom solution portfolio
  • Provide technical input for the technical development of products and services Work closely with RSD’s and resellers to provide expert internal and external technical support and expert training during pre and post sales of products and solution packages
  • Provide documents for engineering and architectural firms to use for preparing specs that favor Ascom equipment
  • Interface at all levels within a customer’s organization and coordinate highly technical information, business proposals and emerging requirements
  • Provide expert analysis and preparation of quotations and proposals
  • Research to determine customer needs and develop application of product and services
  • Work closely with RSD Team to continuously increase the prospective pipeline
  • Provide expert level feedback to Product Manager of emerging customer requirements and new vertical markets
  • Gather, analyze, and share customer technical information and feedback
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments
  • Collaborate and enable at an expert level with Ascom Implementation team, TAC, and resellers
  • Drive systematic and continuous improvement of owned processes to maximize the global performance and fulfilment of strategies, working cross-functionally with relevant functions
  • Ensure that customer complaints and non-conformities and improvement opportunities in the process are identified and addressed through established continuous improvement work
  • Conduct own work in compliance with applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and standards
  •  Preparing technical details and engineering needs to develop sales tools to assist our sales and resellers in learning and presenting the Ascom solution portfolio. 
  • Conducting regular web-based seminars to resellers and customers.
  • Providing input and participating in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.

Qualifications and Work Experience

Tertiary qualified in Information Technology or a related discipline with experience in working with IT, telecom, or wireless technology such as DECT or 802.11. If you are familiar with Ascom’s offerings, this would be very advantageous. We would love to hear more about you so please send us your resume.

  • Engineer Degree, with strong appetence on IT, technology and customer relationship
  • 5+ years Ascom product experience or 5+ years’ experience working with Healthcare Monitoring Systems, EHR, IT, telecom or wireless technology (DECT or 802.11)
  • Professional level wireless certifications and/or Professional level networking certifications
  • Required training records:
  • All Sales Engineer II required training
  • SQL Server, Implementation and Maintenance
  • Microsoft Server Applications Infrastructure
  • Trace and Capture Analysis
  • Advanced Networking
  • Advanced Wireless Networking

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems; TCP/IP Networking
  • Wireless Networking; IP, Digital telephony knowledge
  • Clinical Solutions knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and have a strong social presence with team interaction
