ICT and mobile workflow solutions provider Ascom UK has announced a partnership with Wyld Networks that will help retailers to unleash the power of mesh technology with location specific promotions and content.
Underpinned by Wyld Networks’ patented wireless mesh technology which connects people’s mobile devices without the need for 4G/5G or Wifi connectivity, the partnership offers retailers and brands the opportunity to create a truly bespoke customer experience by building real-time location features into branded smartphone apps.
When customers using an app enter a geozone, such as a car park, shopping mall or aisles in a store, retailers can immediately deliver relevant promotions, content and even assistance for shoppers with additional needs. This is done through location-aware actionable content in real-time all on a secure, robust wireless mesh network without the need to login to Wi-Fi.
As well as connecting stores with shoppers, the technology also provides reliable connectivity for mobile devices and the ability for retailers to analyse rich data sets.
Ascom, whose in-store smartphones and workflow messaging technology are used extensively by major UK retailers and supermarkets, will offer Wyld’s trailblazing technology to new and existing customers.
By adding Wyld Mesh to its solution portfolio, Ascom aims to help retailers seize the opportunities of connecting with their customers on a whole new level, generating vital new revenue streams and enhancing the customer experience – especially as the UK heads towards post-covid normalcy.
Paul Lawrence, managing director of Ascom UK said: “Mesh technology is the realisation of a long-held retail dream – truly connected customer service. The possibilities of this are almost limitless. By giving brands a platform to engage in real-time, they can begin to develop highly personal relationships with customers. This increases loyalty, unlocks new sales opportunities and enables retailers to make data-driven decisions.
“Combining Ascom’s footprint in UK retail with Wyld’s truly innovative technology, this partnership represents a significant opportunity and helps us forward in our mission to better serve all Ascom customers.”
Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks said: “Our Wyld Mesh and Fusion technology has far-ranging applications in enhancing the customer experience and bringing shoppers back to retail at a time when it’s needed the most. Working with Ascom, we are in a strong position to provide retailers with a platform to generate new revenues by engaging with customers, delivering location-aware content and building strong brand loyalty.”
