Ascom signs major renewal deal with top UK supermarket

Ascom has completed a deal to supply a well-known Top 7 UK supermarket chain with worker mobile phones and supporting information management software.

The technology specialist, which works with five of the UK’s top seven supermarket chains, has tailored its package of solutions to ensure reliable, uninterrupted, in-store communication for staff across all sites.

Ascom will equip supermarket employees with i62 Wi-Fi mobile phones. The handsets which are used to send and receive tasks, will be driven by management information collated from across the stores and head office, and dispatched by the integrated Ascom Unite platform.

Key to securing the extension agreement was Ascom’s ability to prove that the rugged, drop resistant i62 Wi-Fi mobile phone and the open Unite platform fully integrate with the supermarket’s planned instore communications infrastructure for the next three years and beyond.
